Uganda Crested Cranes forward Violah Nambi Ssebunya has completed a move to Turkish Women’s Super League side Trabzonspor Kadin Kulubu, marking another significant milestone in her flourishing professional career. The experienced attacker has signed a one-year contract with the Turkish outfit after an impressive spell with Finnish club Aland United.
Nambi arrives in Turkey following an outstanding one-and-a-half-year stint in Finland, where she established herself as one of Aland United’s most influential attacking players. Across 33 appearances, the prolific forward scored 15 goals and registered eight assists, underlining her ability to both find the back of the net and create opportunities for her teammates.

The move to Trabzonspor adds another chapter to Nambi’s remarkable European journey, having built an impressive résumé across several top leagues. Throughout her career, the Ugandan international has showcased her talent in Sweden with Vaxjo DFF and Kalmar IF, Austria with Dornbirn Ladies, Italy with Napoli and CF Pomigliano, before continuing her development in Finland with Aland United.
Her wealth of international experience is expected to provide Trabzonspor with greater attacking quality and versatility as the club strengthens its squad ahead of the new campaign.
Renowned for her pace, technical ability and eye for goal, Nambi brings the qualities needed to make an immediate impact in one of Europe’s increasingly competitive women’s leagues.
The transfer also sees Nambi become the second Ugandan footballer to represent Trabzonspor, following in the footsteps of compatriot Joan Nabirye, who featured for the Turkish side during the 2024/25 season. Her arrival further highlights the growing reputation of Ugandan women’s footballers on the European stage.
Trabzonspor enter the upcoming season with lofty ambitions after finishing second in the Turkish Women’s Super League last campaign, ending the season just six points behind champions Fenerbahce SK. Having come close to lifting the title, the club is determined to mount another strong challenge and finally secure its second league crown.
For Nambi, the move represents another exciting opportunity to continue competing at the highest level while flying Uganda’s flag abroad. As Trabzonspor prepares for a fresh title pursuit, the club will be hoping the prolific forward’s experience, creativity and goalscoring prowess can provide the spark needed to turn their championship ambitions into reality.
