Kampala Queens have closed the gap on FUFA Women Super League leaders She Corporates with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over struggling Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC on Friday, 29th 2022 at Kawempe Muslim playground.
The title chasers created a couple of early chances, but it was the hosts who had the ball at the back of the net just sixteen minutes after kick off thanks to Shakirah Nyinagahirwa’s close range finish.
Undeterred by their poor start, Kampala Queens dominated proceedings thereafter, with notable efforts from Lillian Mutuuzo , Zainah Namuleme, Zainah Nandede and Shamirah Nalugya.
The deserved breakthrough eventually arrived in the 23rd minute when former Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC midfielder Shamirah Nalugya calmly slotted home past a helpless Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC custodian Diana Natukunda to make it 1-1.
The intensity of the game increased as time kept running with each side giving the opponents a good run for their money and eventually the first 45 minutes produced a 1-1 scoreline.

Kampala Queens started the second half with their usual attacking intensity and could have taken the lead within the opening seconds of the second stanza had it not been for a combination of poor and unlucky finishing.
Hamza Lutalo charges found themselves into the lead in the 46th minute thanks to Zainah Namuleme’s close range tap in following a Diana Natukunda howler before Shakirah Nyingahirwa levelled the matters for the valley warriors in the 56th minute.
Shamirah Nalugya capitalised on the host’s poor defending and communication to restore the visitor’s lead in the 57th minute
Eleven minutes later another former Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC midfielder Margaret Kunihira made it four with a long-range shot past the ineffective Diana Natukunda.
With eight minutes to play, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC were handed a penalty after a handball in the forbidden area and Aisha Nantongo calmly slotted home past Kampala Queens custodian to make it 3-4
