The Fufa Technical Centre in Njeru will host one of the most eagerly anticipated fixtures of Matchday Four on Tuesday when unbeaten BUL face Blacks Power in a clash between the Uganda Premier League’s two perfect sides.
Both teams have collected nine points from their opening three matches, making them the only sides yet to drop a point this season. Their meeting therefore presents an opportunity for one club to establish an early advantage at the top of the table.
BUL have made a commanding start to the campaign, combining results with the consistency required to remain among the leading contenders. They will now face a Blacks Power side that has matched their perfect record and will arrive in Njeru determined to preserve its flawless beginning.
The significance of the fixture goes beyond the three points on offer. With both sides still unbeaten and level on nine points, victory would provide the winner with an important psychological boost as the season progresses.
BUL will have the benefit of playing on familiar ground, but Blacks Power have already demonstrated the quality and resilience required to navigate the opening rounds successfully. Neither side will want to surrender its perfect record this early in the campaign.
The match could also provide an early indication of whether either team has the consistency to remain among the title contenders over the longer term. While the season remains in its infancy, a victory in such a closely matched encounter would represent a valuable statement of intent.
Supporters can expect a competitive battle between two sides that have started the campaign in impressive fashion. With nine points apiece and perfection at stake, there is little to separate BUL and Blacks Power heading into their Njeru showdown.
Kick-off is at 4pm.
