Panthers Lacrosse Club have been crowned champions of the 2026 Uganda National Lacrosse League (UNLL) Season 3 after producing a remarkable campaign that finally delivered the coveted league title.
The championship was confirmed in May 2026, with members of the Uganda lacrosse community joining together to celebrate Panthers’ historic achievement.The triumph marked a significant milestone for one of Uganda’s most decorated lacrosse clubs, who had endured near misses in previous editions of the competition.
After finishing third in the second season and fourth in the inaugural UNLL campaign, Panthers finally discovered the winning formula to claim their first league championship.
As the oldest and one of the most successful lacrosse clubs in Uganda and across Africa, Panthers entered the 2026 season with high expectations. Their experience, consistency, and determination throughout the campaign played a crucial role in helping them rise above strong competition and secure the top position.
The champions were powered by a talented and experienced squad that combined leadership, skill, and determination. The team was guided by key players including Iyaleng Damson, Odong Francis, Asiimwe Andrew, Twesiime Liberty, Yosef Ngowe, Waluku Owen Davis, Afoyo Moses, Mutesasira, Ibrahim, Aston, and Junior, who all contributed to the club’s successful title-winning journey.
Panthers’ road to the championship was built on strong performances and improved consistency compared to previous seasons. The club had already shown their competitive strength in earlier league campaigns, including an impressive perfect opening round during the 2025 Uganda National Lacrosse League season, a sign of their growing dominance in Ugandan lacrosse.
The 2026 UNLL Season 3 title further strengthens Panthers Lacrosse Club’s reputation as a powerhouse in the sport. Their success reflects years of commitment towards developing lacrosse, nurturing talent, and competing at the highest level within Uganda’s growing lacrosse community.
Blink Kobs Lacrosse Club finished the season as runners-up after another strong showing in the league, while Vikings Lacrosse Club secured third place. Jinja Nile Zulus Lacrosse Club completed the campaign in fourth position, with Metropolitan International University Lacrosse Club rounding off the standings in fifth place.
With the championship now secured, Panthers Lacrosse Club will look to build on their historic achievement and continue setting the standard for lacrosse excellence in Uganda and beyond. Their Season 3 triumph represents a defining moment in the club’s history and a major boost for the continued growth of the sport in the country.
