Lufula SC , Water Fc share spoils as Kampala Regional league kicks off

Lufula SC and Water FC have shared a point apiece after a 2-2 draw in their opening match of the 2021 -2022 Kampala regional league campaign.

The match that was played at the Kanyanya playground, started at a slow pace with both sides creating a few scoring opportunities in the first half.

The visitors dominated the first half of the match but had nothing to show for their endeavours against a lacklustre home side but instead it was the hosts (Lufula SC ) who drew first blood when Khasimu Mugoye opened the scoring following Brian Muwanguzi’s fine work.

Water FC’s Tumusiime Moses and Olal Kennedy had a couple of fierce strikes blocked in the last seven minutes of the first stanza , but in a game of two halves, the first 45 minutes belonged to the home side.

Meanwhile, after going behind in the first half through a Khasimu Mugoye close range finish, Water FC responded superbly well during the second period and turned the game on its head.

Olal Kennedy appeared to have won all the three points for the visitors after Ibrahim Kitenda had cancelled out Khasimu Mugoye’s opener but Augustine Balinya’s late close range finish rescued a point for the hosts.
