After almost two-years without Kampala Regional league football action due to supervisory and logistical hiccups caused by the outbreak and upsurge of Covid-19 in the country, this weekend brings a return to action with a full slate.
All eyes will be on Allan Kabonge Ponsiano Kivewala, the new man in charge of Kampala third division Impala Hill FC as the Kampala Kings make a short trip to Ntinda for their first match of the season against Ntinda United in the Scorpion group of the Kampala regional league at 3pm.
Having joined Impala Hill this season, this will be Kabonge’s first official game in charge of the Mulago based outfit , a club that recently rebranded from Super Heroes to Impala Hill FC.
In an exclusive interview with this website , Allan Kabonge expressed his side’s readiness ahead of their opening match of the 2021/2022 Kampala regional league campaign.
"We have prepared for the match ,all my players are in good condition apart from afew that are still nursing some injuries,"
"All my players have been paid and have no worries as far as salaries are concerned,"
"Besides that we are ready to play with our hearts satisfied since we have put in alot of efforts on and off the pitch," - Kabonge disclosed to Sbksportsmail.com
The CAF C licensed tactician commonly known as ” The Messiah” will be remembered in the history books of the second division (FUFA Big League) having guided a record four clubs to the top flight league in his coaching career so far including Aurum Roses, Onduparaka FC, Masavu FC and Paidha Black Angels.
The Big league specialist will be assisted by former Uganda Cranes Internationals Derrick Walulya and Hamza Muwonge as Assistant Head Coach and Goalkeeping Coach respectively, all under the close supervision of Pius Kadapao as Technical Director.
The new entrants will bank much on experienced players like team captain Buteera Derrick ,Kamulegeya Nassif and custodian Henry Kiguli who were part of the Super Heroes before the team was sold off due to financial problems.
