🇺🇬U20 Women’s National football team has edged Tanzania U20 Women’s National football team (1-0) in the first friendly game played on Thursday 9th December, 2021 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium as part of events to commemorate Tanzania’s 60 years of Independence.

Hadija Nandago’s 18th minute strike was all Ayub Khalifa’s side required to claim a 1-0 victory over hosts ahead of their second friendly game against the same opponents on 11th December, 2021.

Uganda U20 National Football team Head Coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi made only one change to the team that started versus South Africa in the first leg of the third round of the 2022 Fifa U20 World Cup qualifers with Zainah Nandede replacing Juliet Nalukenge who is not part of squad in Tanzania.

These friendly matches between Uganda U20 Women’s National Football team and Tanzania U20 Women’s National Football team in Tanzania are viewed as part of the two teams preparations for their upcoming second legs of the third round of the 2022 Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Burundi respectively.

Both teams registered home victories in their respective first legs of the third round of the 2022 Fifa U20 World Cup qualifiers with Tanzania winning 3-2 over Burundi at the Azam Complex while Uganda registered a 1-0 home triumph over South Africa’s Basetsana at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende thanks to Hadijah Nandago’s 19th minute header off a Margaret Kunihira corner kick.
