KCCA Women FC and St. Noa Girls WFC will renew their Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League rivalry on Saturday, 26 September 2026, when the two sides meet at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, in a Match Day Two contest that promises to provide an early test of their ambitions for the new campaign.

Kick-off is scheduled for 4pm, with both teams arriving in the capital having already collected maximum points from their opening fixtures. KCCA Women made an impressive start with a commanding 3-0 victory over debutants URA Ladies FC, while St. Noa Girls WFC showed character and defensive discipline to secure a narrow 1-0 away victory against She Corporate.

The meeting therefore brings together two sides eager to maintain their winning momentum. While the season remains in its infancy, another three points would provide valuable encouragement and help either team establish itself among the early pace-setters as the battle for honours begins to take shape.

KCCA Bring Attacking Confidence

KCCA Women FC will approach the contest with considerable confidence after opening their campaign in emphatic fashion against URA Ladies FC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

The KCCA attack immediately demonstrated its potential, with Kamiyat Naigaga opening the scoring before Ariho Rinah doubled the advantage. Naigaga then completed her brace with the third goal, sealing a convincing 3-0 victory over URA Ladies FC. The result not only delivered maximum points but also gave KCCA an ideal platform from which to begin the new season.

For head coach Hamza Lutalo, the victory provided an encouraging beginning to his second spell in charge of KCCA Women FC. Working alongside assistant coach Shafik Mutebi, goalkeeper coach Kawooya Sowedi and physiotherapist Adrine Atukunda, Lutalo will now turn his attention to a St. Noa side expected to provide a considerably different challenge.

The Queens will hope their attacking sharpness can once again translate into clear opportunities, although they will be aware that St. Noa’s organised defensive approach could require greater patience and precision in the final third.

Familiarity Gives KCCA a Strong Foundation

Although the club has entered the new campaign as KCCA Women FC after previously competing as Kampala Queens, there is considerable familiarity within the playing group, giving Lutalo a strong foundation on which to build.

KCCA lost three members of last season’s cup-winning squad in Shamusa Najjuma, Catherine Nagadya and Patience Nabulobi, but much of the core group has remained intact. That continuity could prove particularly useful during the early weeks of a new campaign, when understanding between players can make a significant difference.

Every KCCA player who started against URA had been part of last season’s squad, a factor that was reflected in their movement, communication and understanding of their respective roles. Gloria Namakula, Jamila Nabulime, Teddy Najjuma, Loyce Komugisha, Peace Muduwa, Joanitah Ainembabazi, Kamiyati Naigaga, Catherine Wujja, Esther Namusoke, Ariho Rinah and Marrion Amangat could again form the backbone of Lutalo’s plans.

That established chemistry will be put to another test against St. Noa, particularly if the visitors succeed in restricting the space available in the final third. KCCA’s ability to move the ball patiently while maintaining the attacking intensity displayed against URA could be central to their approach.

Fresh Faces Add More Depth

Alongside the familiar core, KCCA have also invested in fresh talent as they look to build a squad capable of competing across a demanding season.

Forward Nusulah Nakintu has joined from Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC, while young players including Nakalema Rashida, Halima Kiiza and Nusifah Nandyowa have been incorporated into the squad. Their presence gives the technical team additional options while also creating opportunities for emerging talent to make an impression.

Winniefred Kwatulira’s return is another notable development. After missing the entire previous season, her return to competitive football gives KCCA another experienced option as the campaign progresses. Rashidah Nakalema also made her debut during the closing stages against URA, coming on for Kamiyati Naigaga in the 85th minute.

The club subsequently strengthened its midfield with the signing of Kayesu Yuster Joan from Rines SS WFC on a three-year contract. Yuster arrives after a productive previous campaign in which she recorded 10 assists and two goals, numbers that underline the creative qualities she could bring to KCCA’s midfield.

Her arrival adds another layer to an already familiar squad and could give Lutalo greater flexibility as he seeks to balance creativity, control and attacking threat throughout the season.

St. Noa Carry Defensive Confidence

St. Noa Girls WFC will travel to Lugogo with confidence of their own after beginning their campaign with a hard-earned 1-0 victory away to She Corporate at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

The Belles found the breakthrough through Geovanna Aketowang, whose goal gave St. Noa an early advantage in a match that would ultimately demand considerable discipline from the visitors.

Rather than allowing the early goal to become a source of pressure, St. Noa remained organised and committed to protecting their advantage. Goalkeeper Lillian Nakirya played an important role in preserving the clean sheet, ensuring that the Belles left Njeru with all three points.

That defensive confidence could be vital against KCCA. The hosts have already demonstrated their ability to score multiple goals, so St. Noa will need to combine concentration with organisation if they are to limit the opportunities created by the KCCA attack.

Continuity Remains St. Noa’s Strength

One of St. Noa’s most important assets heading into the new campaign is the continuity within their squad. Having competed in the top flight for the first time last season, the Belles have retained almost the entire group that helped them establish themselves in the competition.

Lillian Nakirya, Barbara Anomo, Imelda Kasemire, Mary Ayugi, Dorcas Lwalisa, Brendah Nassaka and Sumaiyah Nalumu are among the familiar figures expected to provide the foundation of the side.

That continuity means St. Noa are not starting the new campaign by building relationships from scratch. Instead, head coach Abdul Damron Seruyange can work with a group that already understands the demands of top-flight football and has experience playing alongside one another.

Seruyange will be assisted by Bosco Mugerwa and Rajab Mugweri, while Abdulnoor Haile Musisi will continue to oversee the goalkeeping department. Together, the technical team will hope to build on the organisation displayed in the opening fixture.

New Captain, New Responsibility

St. Noa have also entered the campaign with a change in leadership, as Imelda Kasemire takes over the captaincy from Barbara Anomo.

Kasemire’s appointment adds another dimension to her responsibilities within the team, with the midfielder now expected to provide leadership both on and off the ball. Her ability to influence the game from the middle of the park could be particularly important against a KCCA side that will want to control possession.

Her first competitive match wearing the captain’s armband ended with victory, giving her an encouraging beginning to the new responsibility. She will now face the considerably different task of helping St. Noa negotiate KCCA’s attacking threat at Lugogo.

Anomo remains an important presence within the squad, while players such as Brendah Nassaka, Sumaiyah Nalumu and Dorcas Lwalisa will also be expected to contribute their experience as the Belles look to maintain their unbeaten beginning.

Players Who Could Shape the Contest

KCCA’s attacking hopes will naturally place Kamiyat Naigaga under the spotlight. After scoring twice against URA, with Ariho Rinah contributing the second goal, the forward will enter Saturday’s contest with confidence and will look to carry that sharpness into another demanding assignment.

Loyce Komugisha is another player who could have a significant influence. After being named Player of the Match in KCCA’s opening fixture, her ability to link the midfield with the attack and help dictate the tempo could prove important against a St. Noa side likely to compete strongly in central areas.

Joanitah Ainembabazi could also play an important role in KCCA’s attacking structure, particularly when the hosts look to create openings around the St. Noa defensive block.

Peace Muduwa’s availability will, however, be closely monitored after she was forced off through injury during the opening match. Her fitness could have a bearing on Lutalo’s final selection and the balance of his starting XI.

For St. Noa, goalkeeper Lillian Nakirya will again be expected to provide composure behind the defence. Her clean sheet against She Corporate offers an encouraging foundation, although she could face a much busier afternoon against a KCCA side that already has three goals to its name.

Captain Kasemire will carry responsibility in midfield, while Geovanna Aketowang, Brendah Nassaka, Sumaiyah Nalumu and Dorcas Lwalisa could all play important roles as St. Noa attempt to combine defensive discipline with enough attacking ambition to trouble the hosts.

One Win Apiece in Previous Meetings

The history between these two sides adds another interesting layer to Saturday’s encounter, with neither club holding the upper hand from their previous league meetings.

KCCA Women FC and St. Noa Girls WFC have faced each other twice in the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League, with each side recording a 1-0 victory.

KCCA claimed the first meeting away from home, with Catherine Nagadya scoring in the 36th minute to settle a tightly contested encounter.

St. Noa responded in the return fixture, producing their own 1-0 victory after Kenyan international Marion Serenge scored in the 75th minute.

The two results underline just how fine the margins have been between these teams. Both matches were decided by a single goal, and that record could add further intrigue to a contest in which neither side will want to give the other an early advantage.

The Main Battle: KCCA Attack vs St. Noa Defence

The central tactical question heading into the fixture is whether KCCA’s attacking quality can break through a St. Noa defence that has already demonstrated its ability to protect a lead.

KCCA will want to move the ball with purpose, stretch the visiting defence and create opportunities for Naigaga, Rinah and the supporting attackers. Their ability to combine quickly around the penalty area could be particularly important if St. Noa choose to remain compact.

The visitors, meanwhile, will look to maintain the defensive discipline that served them so well against She Corporate. Keeping their shape, limiting space between the lines and managing KCCA’s attacking movements could be essential to their hopes of securing another positive result.

The midfield contest may therefore become one of the defining areas of the game. KCCA will look to Komugisha, Najjuma Teddy and their teammates to establish control and supply the forwards, while Kasemire and the St. Noa midfielders will aim to disrupt that rhythm and force the hosts into less comfortable areas.

How each side handles the transition between attack and defence could ultimately shape the flow of the contest, particularly if the opening goal does not arrive early.

What to Expect in Lugogo

Saturday’s fixture brings together two teams who have already demonstrated that they can collect maximum points, but in very different ways.

KCCA will arrive with the confidence of a three-goal victory and the attacking momentum generated by Naigaga’s brace, while St. Noa will draw encouragement from a disciplined away performance in which they protected a narrow lead and secured a clean sheet.

The early position of both teams in the table adds further importance to the contest. KCCA are currently listed first with three points, three goals scored and a plus-three goal difference, while St. Noa occupy fourth position with three points, one goal scored and a plus-one goal difference.

Neither side will want to surrender the momentum gained on Match Day One. KCCA will look to use home advantage and attacking confidence to strengthen their position, while St. Noa will aim to demonstrate that their opening victory can provide the foundation for another strong campaign.

With one victory apiece from their previous two league meetings and both teams beginning the season with wins, the stage is set for another closely contested chapter in what is becoming an intriguing rivalry.

Probable Line-ups

KCCA Women FC: Gloria Namakula; Jamila Nabulime, Teddy Najjuma, Loyce Komugisha, Peace Muduwa; Joanitah Ainembabazi, Catherine Wujja, Esther Namusoke; Kamiyati Naigaga, Ariho Rinah, Marrion Amangat. Peace Muduwa’s place remains subject to her fitness following the injury concern from the opening fixture.

St. Noa Girls WFC: Lillian Nakirya,Barbara Anomo, Mary Ayugi, Dorcas Lwalisa, Brendah Nassaka, Imelda Kasemire, Sumaiyah Nalumu, Zainabu Birungi, Nancy Mandera, Geovanna Aketowang & Martha Babirye .

With maximum points already secured from their opening fixtures, KCCA Women FC and St. Noa Girls WFC will meet with early-season momentum firmly on the line. KCCA will look to build on their attacking start, while St. Noa will hope their defensive organisation and squad continuity can help them negotiate another demanding test and keep their strong beginning to the campaign intact.
