Jinja United WFC and She Corporate FC will go head-to-head on Saturday, 26 September 2026, with both sides seeking to open their points accounts in the 2026/27 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League when they meet at Iganga Ssaza Ground.
The Match Day Two encounter, scheduled for 4pm, brings together two teams looking to respond after disappointing opening-day results. Neither side found the net in its first fixture, making Saturday’s contest an early opportunity to restore confidence, collect valuable points and give their respective campaigns a positive turn.
For Jinja United, the fixture represents another demanding examination of their ability to adapt to life among Uganda’s top-flight sides. She Corporate, meanwhile, will be seeking an immediate response as they attempt to recover from their narrow defeat to St. Noa Girls WFC and revive the momentum behind another championship challenge.
Both Sides Searching for a Response
The opening weekend produced different challenges for the two teams, but the outcome was identical: defeat and zero points. With the season still in its early stages, both sides have the chance to put those setbacks behind them and begin building the consistency required over a long league campaign.
Jinja United were handed a particularly difficult introduction to top-flight football, losing 3-0 to defending champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende. The scoreline reflected the quality and experience of the champions, but the newcomers also showed enough promising moments to suggest that they can grow into the demands of the competition.
The debutants were punished almost immediately, conceding twice in the second and third minutes as Kawempe made their experience count from the outset. Jinja United recovered from that early setback and remained competitive for periods, but a late second-half goal completed a 3-0 victory for the defending champions.
She Corporate’s opening-day assignment was decided by a single goal as they fell to a 1-0 defeat against St. Noa Girls WFC at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru. For a side that had carried championship aspirations into the new campaign, it was an early setback that they will be keen to correct before it develops into a pattern.
St. Noa made their fast start count when Giovana Aketowang struck in the sixth minute. The No. 6 capitalised on the visitors’ energetic opening to find the breakthrough before She Corporate had fully settled into the rhythm of their first competitive match of the season, and her goal ultimately proved decisive.
The result leaves both teams with something to prove at Iganga. A victory would not only provide three important points but could also supply the confidence needed to build momentum, while another defeat would leave either side with considerably more ground to recover as the campaign develops.
Jinja United Face Another Test of Top-Flight Adaptation
Jinja United currently sit among the bottom three sides on the 12-team league table, alongside URA Ladies FC and Rines SS WFC. All three teams have no points, have yet to score and have conceded three goals, leaving them level on a -3 goal difference.
Those figures, however, do not entirely capture the encouraging aspects of Jinja United’s debut. Facing the defending champions in their first-ever top-flight fixture was always going to be a formidable assignment, and the newcomers showed glimpses of the football that helped earn their promotion.
Their next challenge is to turn those flashes of promise into a more complete performance. She Corporate bring considerable experience and quality, but their opening-day defeat also means they will enter the contest with pressure of their own.
Jinja United have retained much of the squad that guided them into the top flight, with Anna Adeke, Aisha Naigaga, Doreen Nantume Babirye, Winnie Naluyange, Patricia Babirye, Aisha Mary Akoth and Benitah Nassejje among the players continuing the promotion journey.
The club has also added new faces, including goalkeeper Miram Zakah Kainza and defender Kakai Zahara, as it strengthens its squad for the demands of a league where every match presents a different tactical and physical challenge.
Head coach Musafiri Abdulsamadu Daba will now be looking for greater composure from his players, particularly during the opening stages of the match. The two early goals conceded against Kawempe demonstrated how costly lapses can be at this level, and a more disciplined start could give Jinja United a stronger platform from which to compete.
She Corporate Seek a Fresh Start
For She Corporate, the opening-day defeat came at an uncomfortable moment for a club whose ambitions remain firmly centred on competing for major honours.
The Sharks had led the championship race going into the final day of the 2025/26 season, only for a draw in their final match to leave the door open for Kawempe Muslim Ladies. The defending champions took full advantage by winning their own final-day fixture, overtaking She Corporate and claiming the title.
She Corporate consequently finished just one point behind Kawempe, having seen a promising championship campaign slip away on the final day. That experience provides a significant backdrop to their new season, with the Sharks returning determined to go the extra step this time.
They currently occupy seventh position on the 12-team table, level on zero points with Lady Doves FC and Amus College WFC. Each of the three sides has conceded once without scoring, leaving them with a -1 goal difference.
While the early standings offer little separation between the teams, She Corporate will know that the season cannot be allowed to drift. Saturday’s fixture therefore provides an immediate opportunity to respond, collect their first points and begin rebuilding the momentum that carried them so close to the championship last season.
New Technical Team Faces Early Test
She Corporate have also entered the new campaign under a reshaped technical structure led by head coach Sadam Pande. Pande previously served as head coach at Olila High School WFC and was part of the She Corporate technical team as an assistant head coach last season, giving him familiarity with the club and its environment.
He is assisted by former She Corporate defender Annitah Arinda, whose transition from the playing field into the technical area adds another connection to the club’s recent history. Isaac Mulindwa serves as goalkeeper coach, Sam Maswaswa is responsible for fitness, while Ronald Mutebi is the team doctor.
Pande has therefore inherited a team with a proven competitive foundation, but also one that has undergone considerable change. His immediate task is to preserve the qualities that carried She Corporate to the final day of last season’s title race while gradually imprinting his own tactical ideas on a reshaped squad.
Sharks Strengthen Squad for Another Title Push
She Corporate’s recruitment was one of the major talking points during their preparations for the new season. Having come within one point of the championship last term, the club moved to strengthen its squad with the intention of increasing depth, competition and tactical options across the team.
Among the new arrivals are Emilly Nabuzale from Amus College WFC, Joyce Mercy Kataike from Asubo Ladies FC, Mary Sharon Kwaga from Isra Soccer Academy and Catherine Naigaga from BUL Women FC. Their additions provide Pande with a wider pool of players as the Sharks attempt to sustain a title challenge over the course of the campaign.
The club has also brought in Zubeda Naluwu, Ruth Nakato and Brendah Atwani, further expanding the options available to the technical team. With competition for places increased, the new arrivals will be expected to adapt quickly and contribute to the club’s ambitions.
Another particularly interesting addition is Ithungu Mary Jane, popularly known as Zian, who has returned to She Corporate from Jinja United. Her move gives Saturday’s fixture an additional storyline, as she will face a club she represented before returning to the Sharks.
Zian also arrives with a strong scoring reputation after finishing as the Elite League’s leading scorer. Her attacking qualities give She Corporate another potential source of goals as they seek to improve on an opening fixture in which they failed to find the net.
Lydia Namaseruka has also joined from Isra Soccer Academy after an impressive spell in the Kampala Women Regional League and involvement with the Teen Cranes. Her arrival adds another player with competitive experience to an evolving squad.
She Corporate have further widened their recruitment net with Tanzanian winger Rehema Julius Buteme from Tausi WFC and Kenyan midfielder Mercy Akoth Manguro from Kayole Starlets FC. Their additions bring international experience to a team seeking to strengthen its options as it pursues another championship challenge.
The defeat to St. Noa was therefore the first serious competitive examination of She Corporate’s recruitment project and new technical structure. Developing chemistry among established players, new arrivals and the coaching staff will be an important process, but Saturday’s fixture offers an immediate opportunity to show that the team is beginning to find its identity.
Adeke and Akoth Could Be Crucial for Jinja United
Jinja United will take encouragement from several individual performances in their opening match, particularly as they attempt to turn the lessons from the Kawempe defeat into a stronger display against She Corporate.
Aisha Mary Akoth is among the outfield players who could have an important role in helping the newcomers carry a greater attacking threat. Her contribution will be particularly valuable if Jinja United are able to create opportunities in transition and put the She Corporate defence under sustained pressure.
Goalkeeper Anna Adeke will also be expected to play a central role. Although Kawempe eventually scored three times, Adeke produced a number of important saves that prevented the champions from extending their advantage and gave her side a chance to remain in the contest.
Her save to deny Latifah Nakasi was among the notable moments from Jinja United’s debut. Another assured performance between the posts could prove important against a She Corporate attack that includes several experienced players.
Jinja United will therefore be hoping for greater defensive concentration while improving their efficiency at the other end. If they can avoid another difficult opening spell and maintain their composure, they could give themselves a better opportunity to compete for their first points of the season.
Namanda Carries Major Attacking Responsibility
She Corporate will look to several attacking players for inspiration, but Jesca Namanda naturally stands out after an outstanding individual campaign last season.
Namanda finished the 2025/26 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League season as joint top scorer with 15 goals and was also named the league’s Most Valuable Player. Her contribution was instrumental to She Corporate’s sustained challenge for the championship.
Her goalscoring ability will be particularly important as the Sharks seek their first goal of the new campaign. Against St. Noa, She Corporate created a platform from which they could have recovered, but they ultimately lacked the breakthrough needed to turn their efforts into a result.
Namanda’s movement, experience and finishing ability could therefore become decisive against Jinja United. The newcomers will need to remain organised around their penalty area, while She Corporate will be hoping their leading forward can provide the attacking spark that was missing on Match Day One.
A First Top-Flight Meeting
Saturday’s encounter will also mark the first meeting between Jinja United WFC and She Corporate FC in the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League.
With no previous top-flight head-to-head record between the sides, neither team can draw on past league meetings for an advantage. Instead, the contest will be shaped by their current form, tactical preparation and ability to respond to the demands of the afternoon.
For Jinja United, it is an opportunity to test themselves against another established side after beginning their campaign against the defending champions. For She Corporate, it is a chance to respond to their opening-day disappointment and begin rebuilding the momentum that carried them to the final day of last season’s title race.
First Points and a Chance to Reset
The central storyline is clear, both teams arrive at Iganga without a point and without a goal, but both have compelling reasons to believe Saturday can provide a fresh beginning.
Jinja United are embarking on their first season in the top flight and will be eager to demonstrate that their opening-day defeat was part of the learning process rather than a reflection of their potential. A stronger start, greater defensive discipline and more confidence in possession could give them the platform to compete.
She Corporate, on the other hand, are beginning the season with the memory of a championship that slipped away on the final day. They had led the race into the decisive round, but their draw allowed Kawempe to overtake them after the champions won their own fixture and ultimately claim the trophy.
That experience will add another layer to the Sharks’ ambitions this season. They are not simply attempting to improve on a previous campaign; they are trying to finish the job that came so close to completion last time around.
Pande’s arrival, the influx of new players and the presence of established performers such as Namanda give She Corporate a new-look challenge. Yet Jinja United will have little interest in the Sharks’ title ambitions and will instead be focused on using their home-ground surroundings to pursue their first points in the division.
The contest could therefore become a meeting between a newcomer eager to make its mark and an established contender determined to recover its footing. Both have experienced disappointment already, but Saturday offers each side the opportunity to write a different next chapter.
When Jinja United and She Corporate take to the field at Iganga Ssaza Ground at 4pm, the immediate prize will be more than just three points. It will be the chance to turn an opening-day setback into renewed momentum and begin shaping the direction of their respective seasons.
