Uganda’s women’s 3×3 basketball team continued their historic Commonwealth Games campaign in emphatic fashion, completing a flawless opening day with a commanding 21-5 victory over Kenya in their final group fixture in Glasgow.
After making history with their first-ever appearance at the Commonwealth Games, the Ugandan side delivered another statement performance, producing a dominant display against their regional rivals to underline their growing reputation as serious contenders in the women’s 3×3 basketball competition.
The victory capped an outstanding day for Team Uganda, which had earlier secured a dramatic 18-17 overtime win over Jamaica before returning to the court to defeat Cayman Islands 27-7. The three victories showcased the team’s consistency, resilience, and ability to adapt under the demanding conditions of the fast-paced 3×3 format.
Against Kenya, Uganda controlled the contest from the opening exchanges, combining defensive discipline, quick transitions, and clinical finishing to pull away from their opponents.
