Ibrahim Owen Kasule has emerged as one of the most closely monitored Ugandan talents in the current transfer window, with Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC reportedly stepping up their efforts to secure the signature of the highly rated attacking midfielder as they continue reshaping their squad for the upcoming season and beyond.
The Kitende-based side is believed to have identified Kasule as a key creative reinforcement, with the club’s recruitment department prioritizing players capable of adding technical quality, vision, and attacking fluidity in the final third, especially as they aim to maintain domestic dominance and strengthen their continental competitiveness.
Negotiations between Vipers SC and Kasule’s representatives are said to have progressed into advanced stages, with discussions now focusing on the finer details of the proposed deal, including contract structure, sporting project expectations, and the long-term role envisioned for the midfielder within the squad.
The player’s camp is understood to have maintained an open and positive stance towards the move, a development that has significantly strengthened Vipers’ optimism, as both sides continue to explore the possibility of bringing the deal to a successful conclusion within the ongoing transfer window.
Kasule currently features for CT United in MLS NEXT Pro, where he is on loan from New York Red Bulls II, continuing his development in a structured and competitive football environment in the United States. His spell in the American football system has played a significant role in shaping his modern midfield profile, exposing him to a faster tempo of play, disciplined tactical structures, and a high-performance culture that has contributed to his improvement in decision-making, positioning, and offensive transitions.
Kasule’s journey in the United States began in March 2023 when he joined the New York Red Bulls setup, marking a major turning point in his career as he transitioned from domestic football into a professional international development pathway designed to refine young talent for elite competition.
During his time within the Red Bulls system, he steadily progressed through the developmental ranks and eventually became part of a successful squad that secured the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Cup, a landmark achievement that highlighted both his growth and his ability to adapt to demanding competitive environments.
Following that success, Kasule was sent on loan to CT United, a move designed to provide him with consistent first-team minutes, allowing him to further sharpen his attacking instincts, improve his match rhythm, and continue building confidence in advanced creative roles.
Before his move abroad, Kasule had already built a solid reputation within Ugandan football circles, featuring for Kampala Junior Team (KJT), Nansana United, and Wakiso Giants, where his technical ability, dribbling quality, and eye for decisive passes began to draw attention from scouts and coaches.
He also gained important competitive grounding in the Masaza Cup, representing Buddu Ssaza in one of Uganda’s most intense football competitions, where he was tested in high-pressure environments that demanded both mental resilience and consistent performance levels.
At university level, Kasule further refined his game while playing for St. Lawrence University in the University Football League, where his creativity, spatial awareness, and attacking intelligence made him a standout performer and one of the most promising midfield prospects of his generation.
Meanwhile, Vipers SC have continued to show strong intent in the transfer market under new head coach Denis Lavagne, with the club already unveiling Joel Sserunjogi, Nicholas Mwere, and Jacques Mangoba as part of a broader squad reinforcement strategy aimed at balancing experience, depth, and youthful energy.
Should the move for Kasule eventually be completed, it would represent a major statement of ambition from Vipers SC, underlining their determination to strengthen their creative department and build a squad capable of sustaining success both in Uganda and on the continental stage.
