She Corporate FC crowned a dominant December by sweeping the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League Monthly Awards, with head coach Ininahazwe Belyse and forward Jesca Namanda deservedly named Best Coach and Best Player of the Month respectively. The dual recognition was a clear reflection of the club’s authority and consistency during the final month of the year, as She Corporate continued to assert themselves as one of the league’s most organised and ambitious sides.
The awards ceremony was held on Monday morning at Twed Plaza, the headquarters of Finance Trust Bank, the official sponsor of the league. The event brought together FUFA officials and members of the media in a setting that celebrated excellence, commitment, and the steady growth of women’s football in Uganda. The atmosphere reflected the rising stature of the FUFA Women Super League, with December’s winners symbolising both performance on the pitch and professionalism off it.
Head coach Ininahazwe Belyse emerged as the standout recipient of the Best Coach award after a month defined by tactical clarity and flawless results. She edged out Uganda Martyrs head coach Edward Kasozi Ssozi and Makerere University tactician Fred Ndawula, thanks to a perfect December record that saw She Corporate register three wins from three matches. Victories over St Noa Girls, Kampala Queens, and Rines SS WFC were convincing in both approach and execution, highlighting a side that was well-drilled, confident, and efficient in all departments. This impressive run enabled She Corporate to conclude the first round of the league in second place on the standings, firmly positioning them among the title contenders.
Although Ininahazwe was unable to attend the ceremony, having travelled to Burundi to spend the festive season with her family, her influence remained unmistakable. The award served as a strong testament to her leadership, vision, and ability to instil discipline and belief within her squad, qualities that have played a central role in She Corporate’s impressive campaign so far.
On the individual front, forward Jesca Namanda lit up December with a series of commanding performances that earned her the Best Player of the Month award. She scored four goals in three matches and claimed one Woman of the Match accolade, underlining her importance to She Corporate’s attacking strength. Her standout moment came at Lugogo, where she produced a memorable hat-trick against Kampala Queens, a performance that captured attention and set the tone for her award-winning month. Namanda edged out Catheirne Nagadya and Angel Auki Kigongo in a tightly contested race for the honour.
Speaking after receiving the accolade, a visibly emotional Namanda was quick to credit her teammates, emphasising the collective effort behind her individual success. She expressed gratitude for the recognition, noting that it reflected the unity and commitment within the team. She further explained that the award would motivate her to push even harder, while also thanking FUFA and Finance Trust Bank for injecting financial support into the women’s game, which she described as a major source of encouragement for players across the league.
Overcome with emotion, Namanda concluded her remarks in tears of joy, underlining how much the recognition meant to her and the journey she continues to embrace as a professional footballer.
Both the Best Coach and Best Player of the Month received trophies and a cash prize of UGX 500,000 each, reinforcing the league’s commitment to rewarding excellence and hard work.
In the media category, Aminah Namutebi of FUFA Services and Solomon Ssaka of NBS Sport were named Best Journalists of the Month in recognition of their consistent and impactful coverage of the FUFA Women Super League. Each walked away with a cash prize of UGX 250,000, further highlighting the important role of the media in promoting and growing women’s football in Uganda.
