Matchday Ten of the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League delivered an action-packed weekend filled with unexpected results, tense moments, and dramatic twists. Unbeaten runs were snapped, scoring streaks continued, and teams battling for survival faced harsh realities. Fans witnessed once again why this league is one of Uganda’s most competitive, with every game capable of reshaping the standings.

Makerere University WFC produced a masterclass performance to hand Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC their first defeat of the season, winning 2-0 in a hard-fought contest. Right from the kickoff, Makerere controlled the tempo with a well-organized defense led by Captain Josephine Ndagire, frustrating the league leaders and forcing errors. Their tactical discipline and compact midfield made it difficult for Kawempe to find their usual rhythm at home.

The breakthrough came in the 19th minute when Nankya Rashida seized a defensive mistake to give Makerere the lead, sparking jubilant celebrations among the traveling supporters. Just four minutes later, Captain Ndagire extended the advantage, giving the visitors a comfortable cushion heading into halftime. Makerere’s midfield remained tight, limiting space for Kawempe’s key players, and their pressing game kept the hosts on the back foot.

After the interval, Kawempe pushed forward, hoping to stage a comeback, but Makerere absorbed the pressure with composure. Goalkeeper Grace Nassande made crucial saves while the defense remained solid, winning aerial duels and closing gaps effectively. Fred Ndawula’s side can take pride in delivering a historic result, proving they are a serious contender in this season’s title race.

She Corporate FC held their nerve to beat Olila H/S WFC 3-2 at FUFA TC, Njeru, marking a third consecutive win for the Sharks. Jesca Namanda continued her impressive form, scoring her eighth goal of the season in the 16th minute to give her side the early advantage. Olila slowly settled into the game, but She Corporate maintained control and dictated the pace for much of the first half.

In the 74th minute, Hairat Babirye doubled the lead, reinforcing the Sharks’ dominance. However, Olila responded instantly as Brenda Atwani scored twice in quick succession, leveling the score and setting up a nerve-wracking finale. The visitors’ spirited fightback added drama and tested the composure of the hosts.

The decisive moment came in stoppage time when Sandra Kisakye, named woman of the match, struck the winner, securing a vital three points. The victory places She Corporate just two points behind the top of the table, signaling that their resilience, attacking quality, and ability to perform under pressure make them strong contenders for the league crown.

Kampala Queens extended their winless streak to three matches after settling for a 1-1 draw with Amus College WFC at Amus College Stadium. Edinah Nasipwondi put the hosts ahead in the 35th minute following a defensive lapse, marking her sixth goal of the season. The first half exposed Queens’ inability to create meaningful chances, raising concerns over their defensive stability under head coach Asefa Firew.

Queens improved in the second half after introducing Precious Phiri, adding composure to the backline and renewed attacking intent. Catherine Nagadya converted a penalty in the 65th minute to level the scores, but missed opportunities prevented the team from taking all three points.

This draw highlights Firew’s toughest spell since taking charge in November 2024. Nagadya’s seventh goal keeps her close to Jesca Namanda in the race for the golden boot, providing a small consolation as Queens search for form and consistency ahead of crucial fixtures.

Uganda Martyrs produced a commanding 4-0 victory over Asubo Ladies FC at Kampala Quality Ground. Kiiza Maureen and Auki Kigongo scored early to set the tone, while Nusulah Nakintu and Nabowa Shallon completed the tally. Asubo struggled to contain the visitors’ sharp attacking movements and organized build-up, allowing Uganda Martyrs to control possession and dictate the tempo throughout.

Lady Doves delivered a similarly dominant display at Katusabe Ground, Masindi, cruising past Rines SS 4-0. Sumaya Nsisi opened the scoring inside the opening minute and went on to net a brace, while Cecelia Apiding and Resty Kobusobozi added the other goals. The hosts efficiently managed the game, exploiting defensive gaps and maintaining pressure from start to finish.

Both sides emerged with renewed confidence. Nsisi’s standout performance earned her the woman of the match award, while Uganda Martyrs’ fluid attack and tactical discipline underline their capability to challenge for top positions as the season unfolds.

Asubo Ladies remain without a win after ten games, sitting at the bottom of the league. Their 4-0 defeat to Uganda Martyrs highlighted ongoing challenges both on and off the field, as they fielded only nine players. This lack of squad depth underscores internal problems and limited resources within the team.

Conceding 25 goals, the most in the league, Asubo’s defensive struggles have been evident all season. Even other struggling teams, such as Olila H/S, have managed to stay competitive, highlighting the scale of Asubo’s difficulties.

If improvements are not made quickly, Asubo’s survival in the league could be at risk. The remaining fixtures will test not only their footballing ability but also the resilience and unity of a team under pressure.

She Maroons FC extended their excellent home record with a 2-0 victory over St Noa Girls-Zana FC at Prison Ground. An early defensive mistake led to an own goal by Nancy Mandera, giving the hosts an immediate advantage. She Maroons controlled possession, dictated the pace, and limited the visitors’ attacking opportunities throughout the match.

The win was secured when Lillian Kasuubo converted a second-half set piece, earning the woman of the match award. Her decisive contribution, combined with a strong defensive display, ensured She Maroons held firm until the final whistle.

This victory lifted She Maroons into fourth place, reinforcing their status as a formidable team at home. Consistency, composure, and balanced play will be key as they aim for higher positions in the league standings.

Matchday Ten highlighted the unpredictability and excitement of the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League. Kawempe’s unbeaten run was brought to an end, She Corporate survived a thrilling finale, and Lady Doves and Uganda Martyrs asserted their dominance. Meanwhile, teams like Asubo face difficult challenges as they struggle to find stability.
