Kitende — Vipers SC president Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa hosted a lavish dinner and awarded a Shs 2 million bonus to Kawempe Muslim Women Football Club following their emphatic 3–0 victory over Asubo Ladies at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende. The win marked the record champions’ eighth consecutive league triumph and further solidified their position at the top of the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League standings.
Goals from Agnes Nabukenya, Dorcus Kisakye, and Asia Nakibuuka ensured Kawempe extended their dominance, leaving Asubo Ladies unable to breach their defense. Mulindwa, whose club partners Kawempe Muslim as the official women’s team, praised the players’ performances, highlighting their commitment and consistency throughout the season.
“This team is setting the standard for women’s football in Uganda. Their discipline and dominance deserve recognition,” Mulindwa said, pledging an even bigger reward should Kawempe Muslim lift this season’s league trophy. The president’s gesture came before Vipers SC’s own home fixture, which ended in a 1–1 draw against rivals SC Villa, underlining his commitment to promoting both men’s and women’s football.
With the win, Kawempe now lead the league with 25 points from nine matches, five clear of second-placed She Corporate and eight ahead of defending champions Kampala Queens. Their eighth straight victory demonstrates a blend of tactical discipline, attacking prowess, and squad depth, making them the team to beat this season.
Meanwhile, Kampala Queens’ struggles continued as they suffered a 3–2 defeat against She Corporate at the MTN Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo. Jesca Namanda netted a superb hat-trick, while defender Amangat Marion and forward Catherine Nagadya scored consolation goals for the defending champions, who are now under pressure after two consecutive losses.
Elsewhere, St. Noa Girls Secondary School and Uganda Martyrs High School settled for a goalless draw at Wankulukuku, while Lady Doves FC held hosts Makerere University to a 1–1 draw, with Resty Kobusobozi scoring her sixth goal of the season. Rines SS also salvaged a point in stoppage time against Amus College in Wakiso, securing a dramatic 1–1 draw, while Olila High School and She Maroons played out a 1–1 stalemate in Soroti.
Mulindwa’s dinner and bonus have not only motivated the Kawempe squad but also highlighted the growing support and recognition for women’s football in Uganda.
