
In a captivating twist, midfielder Edrine Opaala has made a triumphant return to his roots, rejoining Busoga United from BUL FC. This homecoming marks the end of a brief sojourn at Uganda Premier League leaders BUL FC, where Opaala had embarked on a two-year contract in July of the previous year.Despite the anticipation that accompanied his move to BUL FC, Opaala struggled to meet the lofty expectations set for him during his tenure with the league leaders.

Now, with a fresh start on the horizon, the midfielder is eager to rediscover his form at Busoga United.Edrine Opaala’s football journey is deeply entwined with Busoga United, having been nurtured through the ranks from his days at Jinja SS.
The midfielder initially made a name for himself donning the colors of Jinja SS as well as Busoga United for three seasons in the Uganda Premier League before the beckoning call of BUL FC.Notably, Opaala’s accolades precede him, showcasing his prowess on the field.
In 2019, he earned the prestigious title of the Copa Coca Cola Most Valuable Player, a testament to his exceptional skills and contribution to the game. Furthermore, he clinched the same award in the Busoga Masaza Cup while representing Buzaya County during the 2019 edition.
Busoga United’s midfield receives not only Opaala but also the return of Hassan Kintu, who previously plied his trade with the FUFA Big League side Blacks Power. This double reunion adds depth and experience to the squad as they navigate the challenges of the upcoming fixtures.As Busoga United strives for an improved standing in the league, they concluded the first round of the season positioned third from the bottom.
