The USSSA Elite Games Football Girls category came to a thrilling close on Saturday, and it was a rollercoaster of emotions at Kakindu stadium as teams battled for glory in the heart of Jinja.

In a comeback that would make all football lovers proud, Kawempe Muslim SS fought tooth and nail, turning the tide from a goal down to clinch a vital point against Bukedea Comprehensive School.

Shadia Nabirye’s electrifying strike was the golden ticket that sealed the deal for the Valley Warriors, propelling them to the top of the group and snatching the gold from the jaws of their rivals.

While Kawempe Muslim SS threw the ultimate football fiesta, finishing with a stellar 13 points, Boni Consili Girl’s School wasn’t left out of the party. They scooped the silver with a swagger, just one point shy of the summit. St. Noa Girls SS claimed bronze, adding a touch of bronze bling to their collection.

St. Noa’s dreams of a title got a reality check on day one, courtesy of Boni Consili Girl’s School’s Rina Ariho and her goal-scoring prowess. Rina Ariho, the championship’s MVP, left defenders in her wake, showcasing her brilliance with an impressive five-goal spectacle in a single match.

Meanwhile, Shadia Nabirye of Kawempe Muslim SS, Gloria Mutesi of Jinja SS, and Sumaiyah Nalumu of St. Noa Girls SS brought their A-game to the pitch, dazzling spectators with breathtaking performances and goal-scoring flair.

As the sun set over Kakindu stadium, the USSSA sporting calendar’s grand kickoff reached its crescendo. Teams basked in the glory of victory, hoisting their well-deserved trophies high, while the most outstanding players wore their medals like badges of honor.
