In a commanding display of skill and precision, Kawempe emerged triumphant with a resounding 5-0 victory over Wakiso Hills WFC. The pitch witnessed an exceptional performance, showcasing Kawempe’s prowess and securing a decisive win.

In the opening minutes of the game , Wakiso thought they’d cracked the deadlock, but an offside call crushed Namaganda’s goal dreams, putting a damper on their victory dance. The disallowed score injected high-stakes drama, keeping both teams on the edge.

Soon, the game swung in Kawempe’s favor, with Nakayenze unleashing a bomb – a powerful header from Hadijah Babirye’s spot-on corner kick in the 22nd minute. Skill and strategy put Kawempe in control, setting the stage for an exhilarating showdown.

As the match unfolded, Kawempe widened the gap with Nabukenya’s slick move, doubling their lead after Wakiso’s keeper bravely thwarted Kabaculezi’s lethal cross. The second goal escalated Wakiso’s frustration, turning their comeback aspirations into a challenging summit.

Yet, Wakiso had a shot at redemption in the 35th minute. Namaganda showcased her skills with a free kick near the box, but despite precision, it safely landed in Adeke’s hands, denying Wakiso Hill an opportunity to narrow the gap. The missed chance raised the stakes in this intense battle.

Both teams continued to press, and in the closing minutes of the first half, as they attempted a comeback, Wakiso had two consecutive chances. Farida Namirimu’s free-kick sailed over the bar, while Teopista Apino’s shot was thwarted by Adeke Juliet, ensuring a comfortable lead for Kawempe as both teams headed to the dressing room.

Post-recess, Kawempe picked up right where they left off, unleashing a barrage of attacks on Wakiso’s goal. The standout moment came when Hadijah Babirye fired off a rocket of a shot, narrowly missing the target after juking past two Wakiso Hills defenders.

A few minutes after getting the fourth goal, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC head coach Ayub Khalifah introduced Rebecca Nakato and Esther Nangendo in place of the effective Yudaya Nakayenze and Hadijah Babirye.

Nakato got a golden opportunity to make it five with her first touch, but her effort went wide. Kawempe had another chance to make it five moments later, but Esther Nangendo’s free-kick from the right side of the pitch was cleared by Wakiso’s defense, leading to Kawempe’s corner kick that was headed wide by Agnes Nabukenya.

In the 81st minute, Midfielder Namutebi Krusoom took a hit following a rough play from a Wakiso Hills midfielder, prompting her substitution by Allen Nassazi. Just moments later, Hadijah Nandago sealed the deal for Kawempe, making it five with a close-range finish in the 88th minute, neatly slotting home after a slick pass by Allen Nassazi.

Victory means that the valley warriors have extended their lead on top of the FUFA Women Super League table, with a match advantage. They sit above Kampala Queens, sharing an equal number of points at 13 but holding a superior goal difference of 9 goals compared to Kampala Queens’ 4.
