Record champions and last year’s runners-up Kawempe Muslim SS have crashed out of the 2023 Fresh Dairy USSSA national girls football championship after falling to Amus College School.

Kawempe Muslim SS, who edged Shuuku Vocational School (2-0) in their round of 16 fixture played on Friday thanks to Hadijah Nandago and Agnes Nabukenya’s Half-time strikes lost to Amus College School on spot kicks (10-9) after settling for a one all draw in the last quarter final duel.

Meanwhile, defending champions St. Noa Girls Zana, who registered a 3-0 victory over Nyabubale SS from Bushenyi in the round of 16 duel played on Friday morning at Kakyeka Stadium continued with their good run in the tournament with a 2-0 confortable victory over Gulu based Sacred Heart SS to book a place in the semi-finals.

The Wakiso based side still hold a perfect record and have conceded no goal in the knockout phase of this year’s championship and going by the form book, they are favorites to retain the crown.

Elsewhere, another Wakiso District representative Rines SS also raced on to the semi-finals after overcoming Soroti based Olila High School on spot kicks (3-2) following a goalless draw after normal time in their quarter-final encounter to set up a mouth watering semi-final tie with St. Noa Girls Zana

Other semi-finalists are the tournament’s surprise package Mukono Parents High School who progressed to the semifinals after beating Boni Consili 5-4 on post match penalties of the quarter-final game that ended in a 1 all draw after normal time.

  • Mukono Parents High School vs Amus College – Kakyeka Stadium (3:00PM)
