FWSL : She Corporate Crowned Champions on goal difference

She Corporate FC have won the 2021-22 FUFA Women Super League title for the first time in their history since inception in 2015 after a goalless draw against Kampala Queens on the last day of the season.

The Nakawa based side have had to wait up to the last day of the season to clinch their maiden league title and fought very hard to neutralise their closest rivals who were the better side in terms of chances created on the day.

Prior to the highly anticipated title decider, the two sides went into the last match day of the season with 38 points apiece but She Corporate had a superior goal difference and just needed a draw to clinch this season’s title, a mission they successfully accomplished and clinched the title on goal difference.

In the other games played, UCU Lady Cardinals registered a 4-2 home victory against Uganda Martyrs WFC thanks to Hasifah Nassuna’s hattrick and Harima Kanyago’s own goal while Catherine Nagadya and Elizabeth Nakigozi scored for the visitors.

Rines SS WFC confirmed their stay in the FUFA Women Super League next season after surviving relegation on the final day of the season thanks to a 2-2 stalemate against Lady Doves FC in Masindi

Fazila Ikwaput and Rashida Nankya scored for Lady Doves while Joan Ainembabazi netted twice to help Bright Nyanzi coached side survive relegation.

Meanwhile, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC and Olila High School WFC played out a 1-1 draw in Soroti while Tooro Queens FC got relegated from the FUFA Women Super League to the FUFA Women Elite league after a goalless draw against the already relegated She Maroons FC.

Elsewhere, She Corporate FC duo of midfielder Phiona Nabbumba and custodian Daphine Nyayenga were named MVP and best goalkeeper of the season respectively.

“We came into this game with two advantages, a win and a draw were both working for us, when a goal refused to come in the first half, we resorted to a point and we achieved it”

Lady Doves striker Fazila Ikwaput finished the season as top scorer with 15 goals while Rines SS WFC received the Fair Play award for having registered the least bookings (9 yellow cards).
