Luweero Giant Queens unbeaten run in the pre-season fixtures continued in a solid fashion with an emphatic 6-2 victory over Mentor Sports International Academy at Shanam Bombo High School playground.

Edward Lugolobi’s ladies lined up in the familiar 4-4-2 formation & fresh from the U20 Women’s National Team duty, shot-stopper Saidah Namwanje played the opening 45 minutes of the contest and kept a clean sheet before being replaced by Nagadya Stella for the entire second half.

Tambula Sarah partnered Ayikoru Phiona in the centre back ,with Nakagwa Florence and Namugenyi Christine operating in the right and left back respectively.

Ndagire Sandra, Lwetuso Regina, Babirye Hadijah and Nalweyiso Aisha started in the middle of the park and a front two of Namitanda Lydia and Namanda Jesca was trusted by the Luweero Giant Queens’ technical team.

The Giant Queens who were playing their second friendly game of the pre-season after their 8-0 victory over Kituti Girls FC, made a fantastic start and opened the scoring in the 10th minute.

Exciting forwards Namanda Jesca and Nalweyiso Aisha were the biggest winners from the match, scoring a brace each ,to show Edward Lugolobi and his entire technical team that they’ve got their shooting boots laced on tightly ahead of the forthcoming Fufa Women Elite league campaign.

Meanwhile, pacy forward Namitanda Lydia and stylish winger Ndagire Sandra netted once each in the first stanza of the match before Mentor Sports International Academy pulled two goals back in the second half.

The game also allowed Luweero Giant Queens’ technical team to try out different line-ups – one in the first half, another in the second like it was done in their first preseason outing against Kituti Girls FC at Kituti Primary school playground , two weeks ago.
