The Douala reunification stadium was the venue for group C as defending champions, Morocco,  Togo,  Rwanda and Uganda were all in action. 

In the first game,  defending champions,  Morocco defeated competition’s fresher, Togo 1-0. The goal was scored from the penalty spot by Yahya Jabrane at the 26 th minute.  CHAN’s golden boy Ayoub El Kaabi had chances to give the atlas lions a big win but could not find the right scoring boots as it ended 1-0 to the champions.

In the Second game,  one of the most experienced sides in the tournament,  Uganda were held to a virgin tie by 2016 quarter finalists, Rwanda.

The outcome of the games sees defending champions,  Morocco top with 3 points while Rwanda and Uganda have one point each.

The second day of play will have to provide fireworks as two former host nations,  Morocco and Rwanda exchange soccer punches on Friday January 22, while New comers Togo will take on Uganda in the second game at the Reunification stadium.
