
Champions of last year’s StarTimes Uganda Premier League Vipers SC are the latest StarTimes Uganda Premier League outfit to comfirm squad numbers ahead of the forthcoming season.
A busy and an exciting summer of arrivals saw the venoms add five new faces to their last year’s squad with their last acquisition being Manzoki, who joined Ibrahim Orit, Jamil Kalisa, David Bagoole and Disan Galiwango as the new men at the St Mary’s Stadium ahead of the new season.
Joseph Dhata who was with the venoms last season but couldn’t play because of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) issues, was finally cleared to feature for the Kitende based club this season.

Exciting youngsters Richard Basangwa, Najib Yiga and Sula Mpanga from St Mary’s Boarding Secondary School are some youngsters licenced to feature for the venoms in the forthcoming season.
Promising goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya who spent most of his time on loan last season with Proline FC was recalled at the end of the 2019/20 season and is among the three Viper’s custodians ahead of the 2020/21 football season.

Meanwhile, there were also a number of players saying farewell to the Kitende based club as head coach Fred Kajoba reshaped his squad and others loaned out to get playing time.
Last season’s top scorer for Vipers SC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League Fahad Bayo was among those, with the powerful Cranes forward making a switch to Israel to join F.C. Ashdod.
Tito Okello who recently switched nationality to South Sudan also bade farewell to St Mary’s Stadium after two seasons with the club and joined Kenya’s Gor Mahia
Rahmat Ssenfuka and Brian Nkuubi also left on a free transfer, joining Wakiso Giants FC and Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club respectively following their release from the club.
Tom Masiko, Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye, Duncan Sseninde, Dan Birikwalira, Joseph Janjali, Dickens Okwir, Farouk Musisi, Baden Mujahid, Steven Mukwala and Derrick Ochan were also let go by the club whilst both Brian Kalumba and Ibrahim Tembo made a temporary switch to UPDF FC on a season-long loan.
SQUAD NUMBERS
New signing Ibrahim Orit formerly at Mbarara City will wear number 7 while former Express skipper Disan Galiwango will wear shirt number 3 following the release of Farouk Musisi.
Congolese striker Cesar Manzoki Lobi has been handed shirt number 9 formerly worn by Fahad Bayo while youngster Musa Ssali, promoted from St Mary’s Kitende has been given shirt number 33.
Midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga has switched to shirt number 18 previously worn by Brian Nkuubi Ssemakula who was released by the Kitende based club and later joined URA FC.
Midfielders David Bagoole formerly at Busoga United and Jamil Kalisa formerly at Soltilo Bright Stars will wear number 20 and number 8 respectively while Joseph Dhata will wear number 2 previously worn by Ahmed Amayo who has switched to number 32.
Richard Basangwa becomes the new number 26 following Brian Kalumba’s loan move to UPDF FC while Najib Yiga has been given number 24 previously worn by Bobosi Byaruhanga.
Goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya switches from number 27 he wore before joining Proline FC on loan last season to shirt number 19 previously worn by Derrick Ochan (now at Police Football Club).
Fresh from a long term injury,Livingstone Mulondo gets back his number 4, which was worn by Rashid Toha last season while Toha has been given number 12 following the departure of Rahmat Ssenfuka.
Fabien Mutombora, Halid Lwaliwa, Bashir Asiku, Abraham Ndugwa, Siraje Ssentamu, Allan Kayiwa, Dan Sserunkuma, Denis Mwemezi, Geofrey Wasswa, Aziz Kayondo, Jacob Okao, Milton Karisa, Paul Mucureezi, Paul Willa, Muhammad Shaban and Karim Watambala all retain the same shirt numbers as last season.
