BUL FC have established themselves as the early pace-setters in the 2026/27 StarTimes Uganda Premier League, maintaining a perfect record after four matches to move three points clear at the top of the standings. The Jinja-based side have collected all 12 points available so far, scoring 11 goals and conceding only three, a start that has given them an eight-goal difference and placed them firmly at the summit in the opening weeks of the campaign.

NEC FC and SC Villa are the closest challengers, with both sides sitting on 10 points after four matches. NEC occupy second position after winning three games and drawing once, while SC Villa have recorded an identical sequence of results. The two sides have also enjoyed strong defensive starts, with NEC conceding just twice and SC Villa allowing only one goal, although NEC’s nine goals give them a slightly higher goal difference and place them ahead of the Jogoos in the current standings.

Blacks Power FC have also made a notable start and currently occupy fourth position with nine points from four matches. Three victories have given them a strong foundation, although their campaign has been interrupted by one defeat. With five goals scored and three conceded, the side remains within touching distance of the top three and could quickly close the gap with another positive result as the league continues to develop.

Further down the table, Entebbe UPPC FC and Lugazi FC are level on six points, occupying fifth and sixth positions respectively. Entebbe UPPC have collected two victories from three matches, while Lugazi have also won two of their opening three games. Their early records underline how closely contested the middle and upper sections of the table could become, with relatively few points separating several teams after the opening fixtures.

Police FC sit seventh with four points from three matches after registering one win, one draw and one defeat. Their defensive record has been particularly tight, with just one goal scored and one conceded, while Maroons FC, Express FC and URA FC each have three points. Maroons and Express have both played three matches, while URA have also collected one victory but have conceded six goals, leaving them with a negative three-goal difference.

The middle section of the standings remains particularly competitive, with UPDF FC on two points after three matches and several clubs on one point. UPDF are yet to register a victory but have drawn twice, while Kitara FC have one point from their only match so far. Mbarara City FC, Kataka FC, Kigezi Homeboyz FC and KCCA FC are also on one point, although their number of matches played and goal differences vary.

Mbarara City are 13th after two matches, having drawn once and lost once without scoring. Kataka are 14th with one point from two games, while Kigezi Homeboyz sit 15th after three matches. KCCA FC are 16th, also on one point, having played three matches and scored no goals. The standings therefore remain capable of changing significantly as clubs with fewer matches begin to catch up with those who have already played four fixtures.

Vipers SC and Ntugasaze FC currently occupy the final two positions, although their campaigns have taken different paths. Vipers have played only once and are yet to register a point, while Ntugasaze have suffered three defeats from three matches. Ntugasaze have scored twice but conceded eight, leaving them with the lowest goal difference in the division at this stage, while Vipers have a single goal against their name and one conceded.

The early standings also highlight how important every result has been in shaping the table. BUL’s perfect start has created an early advantage at the top, while NEC, SC Villa and Blacks Power remain within a narrow points range. Behind them, Entebbe UPPC and Lugazi are separated from the leading group by only three points, leaving plenty of room for movement as the fixture list progresses.

With several teams still having matches in hand, the table remains an evolving picture rather than a definitive reflection of the season’s eventual direction. The coming rounds will provide more opportunities for the clubs at the top to strengthen their positions, while those in the lower half will be looking to turn promising performances into points and climb the standings. For now, however, BUL FC have set the early benchmark, with NEC FC, SC Villa and Blacks Power FC closely involved in the opening contest near the summit.
