The much-anticipated USSSA boys’ finals in Bukedea district took an unexpected turn as controversy overshadowed what was poised to be a thrilling conclusion to the boys’ football tournament.The finalists, Amus College School and Bukedea Comprehensive School, are not just battling it out on the field, but their ownership adds an intriguing political dimension to the match.

Amus College School, owned by Mr. Patrick Isaigi, the MP of Kachumbala County, faced off against Bukedea Comprehensive School, belonging to Speaker of Parliament, Anita Annet Among.The match took a dramatic turn when Amus College School seemed poised for victory with a 1-0 lead in the dying minutes of the game.

However, controversy erupted when the center referee, against the expectations of many, added an additional five minutes of play beyond the four minutes officially announced by the fourth official. It was during these added minutes that Speaker’s School managed to equalize, sparking outrage among fans from both sides.

Tensions escalated as fans invaded the pitch, overpowering security measures and forcing the referee to postpone the game indefinitely.In the midst of the chaos, the Amus College girls’ team emerged victorious over Bukedea Comprehensive girls with a 2-0 win in the finals.
