With the group stages having drawn to a close in Fortportal City , the focus and attention will swiftly turn to the round of 16 stage at the 2023 USSSA national Boys football Championship.
Defending champions St Mary’s SS Kitende , St Henry’s College Kitovu, London College Nansana , West Ville , St Joseph College Layibi, Buddo S.S, Kigumba Royal, Jinja Progressive Academy, Royal Giant Mityana, Bishop Negri, Standard Zana, Kawempe Muslim, Amus College, Mukono Kings High School, Nkoma S.S and record winners Kibuli S.S are the sixteen standing schools.
All the Round of 16 matches of the 2023 USSSA national Boys football Championship will be played today (Wednesday, 17th May 2023) with the first set of games kicking off at 9:00am.
High-flying St Henry’s College Kitovu, led by Sekibengo , will take on London College Nansana at 9 AM (Canon Apollo PTC playground) while hosts West Ville will face St Joseph’s College Layibi (Kichwamba playground) at the same time.
Meanwhile, Jinja Progressive Academy will face off with Mityana based Royal Giant High School at Canon Apollo PTC Core playground) while Buddo S.S will also be in action against Kigumba Royal at Kichwamba in another set of round of 16 games that will take place at 11 AM.
In the afternoon (1:00pm), defending champions St Mary’s SS Kitende and Kampala based Kawempe Muslim SS will take on Bishop Negri College and Standard High Zzana at Kichwamba Technical college playground and Canon Apollo PTC Core playground respectively.
Elsewhere, Mukono Kings High School will take on Amus College at Kichumba College playground while record winners Kibuli S.S will face Nkoma S.S at 3 PM at Canon Apollo PTC Core playground.
