South Africa’s U20 Women’s National Football team and Uganda U20 Women’s National Football team played out a goalless stalemate in their second leg clash of the third round of the 2022 Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers at the Dobsonville stadium in Johannesburg.
The goalless draw proved enough for Uganda U20 Women’s National Football team to progress to the fourth round thanks to a 1-0 aggregate score courtesy of Hadijah Nandago’s 19th minute header off a Margaret Kunihira well taken corner kick in the first leg played at the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on 3rd December 2021.

This will be Uganda’s maiden appearance in the fourth round of these Qualifiers and will face the winner between Ghana and Zambia in the fourth round of the 2022 Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers which happens to be the second last phase to determine the teams two African teams that will qualify for the 2022 Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup that will be held in Costa Rica.

The team will get back to the country on Saturday afternoon aboard Ethiopian Airlines.
Meanwhile, Ghana’s away clash with Zambia in the first leg of the third round of the 2022 Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers produced no winners as the teams settled for a 0-0 draw two weeks ago.
The sides drew blanks in the third round first leg fixture at Nkoloma Stadium in the Zambian capital of Lusaka, setting things up for an exciting second leg in Accra tomorrow, 18th December 2021.
