The Uganda Netball Super League action returns this weekend (Saturday, 16th October 2021) with five exciting fixtures at Nakivubo Blue, kicking off at 9:00am.

With exception of Prisons Netball Club that  has played more games than the rest, nine teams will be in action this weekend and Sbk Sports Mail’s Brian Sentuuya brings you everything you need to know about this weekend’s 🇺🇬Netball Super league fixtures.

MATCH ONE :POSTA VS UGX LUWEERO

The first game of the day at Nakivubo Blue will see two struggling sides Posta and Ugx Luweero play each other at 9:00am.

This  won’t be an easy game since both teams have not been doing well in their first three games of this campaign and are on the list of teams  in the Netball Super league yet to find a win this season.

Both sides were disappointing in their last outings with Posta falling to a 67-38 defeat to Makindye Weyonje Netball club on Saturday 9th October 2021, whilst Ugx Luweero lost to Police (46-42) on Saturday 2rd October 2021.

A win for either of these sides would be huge in their bid to improve their position on the log of the National Netball league.

MATCH TWO : MAKINDYE WEYONJE VS NIC

The second game of the day will be a cracker as two unbeaten sides in the 🇺🇬Netball Super league, Makindye Weyonje and NIC, the reigning champions battle at Nakivubo Blue (11:00am).

There is little to choose between these two sides on paper, with both collecting maximum points from their respective first games this term.

The table leaders (NIC) have won all their first four games of the season and will fancy their chances of making it five-out-of-five against Makindye Weyonje Netball club and head into this weekend’s clash on the back of a 66-33 convincing victory over UCU.

On the other hand, Makindye Weyonje Netball Club also head into the weekend as one of the three unbeaten sides in the league after winning their first three games of the season  and will be aiming at maintaining that record at Nakivubo Blue against high flying NIC.

Weyonje deserved their 67-38 victory over Posta last weekend, in a game that was heavily disrupted by the weather and look capable of mounting a serious challenge against the table leaders tomorrow.

MATCH THREE : KBK VS UPDF

The third tie of the day at Nakivubo Blue on Saturday will see fifth placed KBK fighting it out with bottom placed UPDF at 1:00pm.

KBK will be hoping for a repeat of their last result in the league, following a 38-37 narrow victory over Posta while struggling UPDF and their fans will hope for a better result following a 63-42 defeat in their last outing at the hands of high-flying Police Netball Club.

MATCH FOUR : UCU VS POSTA

The second last game of this weekend’s 🇺🇬Netball Super league at Nakivubo Blue will see seven placed Posta take on UCU in another clash of two winless sides.

UCU, who honored their first two fixtures last weekend having missed the start of the season due to the imposed Covid-19 restrictions on education institutions in Uganda won’t want a repeat of their last week’s results after their 66-33 & 55-35 defeats to NIC and Prisons respectively.

On the other hand, Posta (playing their second game on the day) will feel that a struggling UCU side is there for the taking when the two teams meet at 2:30pm and a win for either of these sides would be huge in their bid to improve their position on the league log.

MATCH FIVE : POLICE VS KCCA

Unbeaten Police Netball Club will be taking on a winless KCCA side in the last game of this weekend’s  Netball Super League fixture at 4:00pm.

Energized by their previous results in the 🇺🇬Netball Super league (four wins in four games), Police will be hoping for more of the same after a 63-42  win over a struggling UPDF side last week while KCCA will go into this encounter on the back of a narrow 45-44 loss to Prisons in their last game.
