Uganda Hippos have departed for Tanzania where they will play against CECAFA Regional qualifiers runners-up Tanzania before facing COSAFA representatives Namibia in a Mini Tournament as part of their preparations ahead of the forthcoming U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Finals that will be hosted in Mauritania in February.

But prior to the Mini Tournament,Uganda Hippos Head coach Morley Byekwaso and the entire technical team announced the final 25-man squad yesterday (Sunday,31st January,2021).

All the eighteen players that were part of the Hippos team that won the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers retained their places on the Team while Sam Senyonjo (KCCA FC), Derrick Kakooza (Police FC), Davis Sekajja (Soltilo Bright Stars FC), Andrew Kawooya, (KCCA FC), Goalkeeper Delton Oyo (Busoga United FC) Simon Baligeya (Kibuli SS) and Ivan Eyamu (Mbarara City) are the new faces that missed out as Byekwaso named his Final squad for Total CAF U-20 Zonal Qualification tournament but have managed to break through again.

However,a notable name missing from the travelling party to Dar es Salaam is Vipers exciting midfielder Ivan Asaba ‘Di Maria’ who was named on the final 25-man squad yesterday. It’s understood that he will join the team later.
