McKinstry,Lukwago optimistic ahead of 🇺🇬Cranes final group game against Morocco

Uganda Cranes head coach Johnathan McKinstry and goalkeeper Charles Lukwago are optimistic ahead of their final group stage against Morocco on Tuesday at Stade de la Reunification- Douala ‚ saying the belief amongst players is still top notch with all eyes on the game . 

McKinstry’s inconsistent men who were stunned by debutants Togo in their last Group C game of the TOTAL African Nations Championship (CHAN)  in a match of stunning goals at the Stade de la Reunification in Douala (Cameroon) last Friday,will be up against title holders Morocco, who managed to win their opening match 1-0 against Togo but failed to show their prowess and effectiveness as they were frustrated by a defensive-minded Rwanda side at the Reunification Stadium in Douala.

With no team guaranteed of qualification yet heading into the final bend of the group stage from this group after the completion of the opening two rounds of action, the stage is set for Uganda Cranes final Group C match at Stade de la Reunification- Douala that will decide their early departure or further stay in the competition

And ahead of the much anticipated clash,Uganda Cranes Head Coach Johnathan McKinstry and goalkeeper Charles Lukwago have addressed the media during the pre-match press conference about the fixture against Morocco and stressed that his boys have quality to cause Morocco problems but will require a 90 minute performance and being alert as Morocco can easily catch them on counter attack. have .

We are into the last 48 hours before we play Morocco. We are looking to create that cup final mentality. We need to go out and play the game. There is no next game at the moment. This is a cup final. We shall have a couple of new things because Morocco they bring different challenges. We have asked the players to put in more effort, work rate and intelligence like they did in the second half against Togo. We have told them there is no Quarterfinal for the team until they play and get a result the game against Morocco. We want to write a story for ourselves, for the country and everyone back home. The odds are against us but we believe it is possible.

We are positive and our targets set at the beginning of this campaign are still alive. We shall remain competitive as we head into the final game against Morocco. I know the challenge ahead but it all goes down to a positive mentality from my teammates when we walk on to the pitch. We want to create a great atmosphere tomorrow.
