🇺🇬 Hippos Provisional Squad for the Total AFCON U20 Final tournament summoned

Uganda Hippos Head coach Morley Byekwaso has summoned a provisional squad of 38 players to begin preparations for the Total AFCON U20 Final tournament slated to take place in Mauritania from 14th February to 6th March 2021.

The summoned squad includes two UK based starlets who will be some of the new faces in the squad ,these are Odokonyero Nathan (Lincoln City) and Kitaka Samuel Moses (Loughborough University) whilst Ssenyonjo Samuel (KCCA FC) joins the Hippos fold after series of brilliant displays since making his debut for the Lugogo based club.

On the other hand,the squad also includes Police Football Club’s forward Derrick Kakooza , Mbarara City’s Ivan Eyamu , former Hippos captain Robert Kitabalwa , KCCA FC midfielder Andrew Kawoooya and Aspire Academy’s Umar Lutalo who were omitted as Byekwaso named his Final squad for Total CAF U-20 Zonal Qualification tournament despite being in camp up to the final day .

StarTimes Uganda Premier League players including Steven Sserwada,Begisa James Penz, Musa Ramathan, Garvin Kizito Mugweri,Ssekajja Davis, Kenneth Ssemakula, Joseph Kafumbe, Isma Mugulusi, Najib Yiga , Richard Basangwa and Raymond Onyai all feature as well as Proline FC goal poacher Ivan Bogere ,Ashiraf Mulindi, Alpha Thierry Ssali ,Faisal Wabyona , Ivan Asaba and custodian Komakech Jack

Meanwhile,there are also call-ups for Bobosi Byaruhanga and Abdul Aziizi Kayondo currently on duty with the Uganda Cranes CHAN Team in Cameroon and are expected to join the rest of Uganda Hippoos squad depending on Uganda’s performance at the ongoing CHAN tournament.

This is the first-ever Uganda Hippos engagement in the AFCON U20 Finals after emerging champions of the CECAFA Regional Qualifiers in December 2020.
